Help with generalized anxiety, panic attacks, OCD, phobias, fears and worry
Anxiety can make everyday life feel harder than it should. Dr. Brandon Santan, PhD, LPC-MHSP, is a mental health counselor who specializes in anxiety challenges, including:
He sees patients at the Jordan Professional Building, 101 Jordan Dr., just off I-75 at the Shallowford Rd exit, and by telehealth.
Dr. Santan's approach is holistic. He looks at every part of your life (emotional, mental, physical, spiritual and relational) and how those parts affect each other. He works to help you feel better as quickly as possible while also finding and addressing the root cause, not just managing symptoms.
There's no one-size-fits-all plan. Your treatment plan is built around your history and situation. His style is friendly, accepting and non-judgmental, and directive when needed.
The first few sessions are mostly about getting to know you: listening to your story, answering your questions, refining your goals and developing a treatment plan. As sessions continue, you'll dig deeper and work on solutions together. You may get things to practice between sessions. When you're ready to continue on your own, you'll finish counseling, and you're welcome to come back for a checkup or a new concern later.
Dr. Santan is comfortable working with patients who take medication and coordinates care with prescribing providers when possible. He doesn't interfere with medication management, which stays between you and your physician.
If past trauma plays a role in your anxiety, Dr. Santan can address it as part of your treatment. He isn't a trauma specialist, though. If trauma resolution is your main goal, a trauma specialist is the better fit.
Dr. Santan is in network with BCBS, Cigna, Aetna and UHC private plans. Government plans such as Medicare, Medicaid and Tricare don't cover sessions with Dr. Santan. For a free benefits check, contact the billing coordinator at 423-510-1999 x8. See Rates for private pay fees.
Dr. Santan is a Board Certified Telemental Health Counselor and offers sessions by phone and video. You must be located in Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, Idaho or Ohio at the time of your appointment.
